How It All Began
Our story began at the University of Central Florida (UCF) in the fall of 2016, where we met while working at the UCF Bookstore. We gradually grew to know one another, as we talked about our lives and hobbies during each shift. Cy eventually messaged Laura through the UCF Bookstore’s “WhentoWork” app to ask for her number. Although initial sparks were in the air, we maintained a friendship throughout the years we spent at and after UCF.
When we started traveling to Austin for the first time in September 2022, we realized that our relationship was developing into something even more meaningful. After agreeing to join Cy on his trip to Cancun, we decided to be exclusive in December of 2022 and move in together shortly after.
Fast Forward
With work schedules that were not destined to align, our spontaneous travels became a core part of our relationship in order to spend quality time together. From within the states, to overseas, our collection of magnets continues to grow to over 17 destinations within the past 2.5 years, including our Hawaiian cruise in 2024.

After an adventurous day exploring Kauai, searching for sea turtles and digging out our jeep from the sand, the day could not have ended more perfectly than with a dinner by the beach at sunset. Little did Laura know, Cy had a surprise up his sleeve. As we walked up to the beach and stared out to the sunset, Cy got down on one knee and popped the question. Laura said yes and the rest is history!
And the rest is history
We cannot wait to celebrate our love with all of our favorite people in March!
